Terrible Flaky connection

Having been on BeBroadband for a while I foolishly moved to Orange to save money. My connection is terrible now, using a Billion 7800N I can only sync at 224 / 2272 kbps whereas I used to her 800 / 5000 before.

Is this a line or ISP fault, system log:

The "ADSL link down/up" are re-syncs to exchange.

What are router stats?

Your speeds are being damped by both high NMs; both should be about 6 dB on a good line.

But your line is faulty; you are getting lots of discons so the NM have been raised to compensate.

Are you plugging into test socket? Removed ring wore? Many extensions? All sockets filtered? Any new equipment recently?

Thanks for the replies, nothing new, there is nothing plugged into the faceplate or any wires/extensions leading off it. Small house with an ADSL splitter to the master socket. Just to be sure - it is the same in the internal test socket.

I had the same problems with the original netgear and brightbox but seemed to resolve itself, still had poor speeds but was stable for a month or so.
