How long for a reply

[link to this post]

I decided to seek a quote from Orange for their fibre service and asked for an indication of speed (not an up to). I asked for this quote to be emailed to me (for my convenience) and received back the automated reply that my query was being looked into and that Orange would get back to me within 48 hours (thats their goal seemingly). Why am I not surprised that over 6 days have passed since my initial enquiry and not a peep has been heard from Orange. Is that how Orange aim to keep their customers UKDoc? The chances of me using this joke of a company for much longer are rapidly dwindling.

You're wasting your time.

You'll get no better quote from them, if you get one at all, than if you just check on BT Wholesale Availability Checker. It's BT Wholesale who actually runs the system.

Anyway EE gives you a quote of speed when you check availability on their site. What more do you want and what more can they possibly give you?

Hello,

If you can send me your details by PM, with broadband telephone number, mobile number and email address I will have some contact you to get you the required information.

I have already raised the issue with the appropriate team manager regarding the lack of response.

Regards

Gavin

It's most inconsistent! I get on my Orange 20 Meg line:
WBC ADSL 2+ Up to 13 -- 7.5 to 17.5 Available
and on my equal ability parallel non-BB line (once 16 Meg O2 LLU):
WBC ADSL 2+ Up to 15 -- 8.5 to 19 Available
Has Orange somehow borked the BTw database?

Thanks for the responses guys and the handy links. XraySpeX I wanted more due to my past dealings with Orange where their lack of using the truth hacked me off just a little. I still think that over 6 days of being ignored shows how little Orange think of their customers.
E7er the links you sent were very helpful and have been forwarded to several friends who all thank you.
UKDoc I have PMd you, thanks in advance for any help you can offer.
