BrightBox and wakeup on LAN

[link to this post]

I want to setup port forwarding to enable wakeup on LAN for one of my PCs. This works fine on the local network - so I know both the PC and the app are configured correctly. However when I try to do this remotely, nothing works.

I've tried setting up port forwarding (public port 9/local port 9 or public port 5909/private port 9, for example) but this doesn't work. The guides I've read suggest this should be sufficient but I've also seen posts that suggest the target IP address should be 192.168.1.255 (broadcast address) but the port forwarding page won't allow a value above 254.

Has anyone got this working and, if so, how?

Many thanks.

This EE Forum here is pretty dormant these days. Your issue is more 1 of networking than EE. Put a post in the Home Networking, Internet Connection Sharing, etc. Forum. Don't just copy your post but a brief outline with this link to here:

Unfortunately not. Those are the instructions I've followed.

Thanks anyway.
