Battlefields 1943..xbox live and Psn

[link to this post]

Now this Battlefields 1943 is going to be released next week on both the xbox live and playstation network, however is this the old pc game from years gone by or what.

I am sure 6 years ago i had the pc version on a old pc,is this suppose to be something new or is it exactly the same at a reduced price of £9.99.

Just looked at the trailer and it looks real nice but i am curious.

UPDATE ..Taken from the ign.com forums.

Summary: When you first see Battlefield 1943 you'll likely assume it's a new retail release. But this is a downloadable first-person shooter headed for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC. The 3D game is simply stunning for a digital release. It's light on features compared to a disc game, though: included are three multiplayer maps, recycled from the seven-year old PC game Battlefield 1942. That's all you get, but they should provide plenty thrills for your online multiplayer sessions. Plus, Electronic Arts will be making announcements about downloadable content, soon.

There are only 3 classes
There are only 4 maps (1 is locked away until 43mil kills is reached (for both platforms))
Ammo is unlimited (you still have clips which need reloading but theyre infinite)
Health regenerates slowly (no need for medics)
Built on the same engine as BF:Bad Company
24 Players

I think it will be decent, theres PC version due in september.

When I watched a gameplay video, it just played out pretty much the same as heroes without the comic style. Mind you, the people playing were journalists and gamedevs messing around on xbox 360.

the game is quite enjoyable , could do with more maps but then ea will probably release more 1942 maps as paid content. 360 is about half way to unlocking the coral sea map and ps3 about 25% of the way there

To be honest, could be better. They are way too arcade style, making dogfights rather dull and easy to take down others unless lured over an AA gun.

That was the idea, to make it easy for people to pick up but give enough room for regular players to grow in to. By the looks of it its paid off too.

I downloaded the demo but i would rather play Cod 4,really dont understand why these people think that we want games from the past on next generation machines.
