Battlefields bad Company 2 Beta.

Well i decided to pre/order this from Play.com for a chance to play the beta early,now i have been sent the code as promised but i can not download the client with there link provided.

Can not display webpage for some unknown reason,i have been on the battlefields main site but i can not for love or money find anything regarding beta downloads or client...............Anyone

Having done a little looking it might have something to do with this....

Beta client wont go up until tomorrow.

I preordered from GAME but someone at EA/DICE sucks big time and fails to recognise the UK's biggest retailer, so now i have to wait for somewhere else to offer keys, GG DICE/EA.

GAME ran the console beta btw.

I gave up with game long ago when the postal service was basically holding everybody to ransom and Game unlike other online game companys did nothing regarding orders arriving a week after release date.

That is what i like about shopto.net,not only are the cheaper than game they actually compensate you with a credit if the game is not delivered to you on time.

Game needs to take a leaf out of shopto.net book and learn and stop being the greedy corporation they have become.

Another thing that put me of Game was there constant changes to there website that looks naff anyway,they have taken away the coming soon feature which tells the likes of me and you what game releases are on the horizon.

Some bright spark responsable for the website decided this is no longer needed.............Yeah right and so dips your pre/order sales fool.

Blockbuster to my surprise actually do trade in and are as competative as game and gamestation,popped into get a game once as i could not be bothered to drive into a town,quite amazed at some of there deals not that i would use them for anything bar the odd game /trade in.

Pre/order it from play.com and then cancel it after you get a beta code like i have

I never trade in, which is why I'm picky over what I buy, I also buy a lot digitally via steam so no trade in there, hence why it gets my goat if things are overpriced on there i.e BFBC2 £35 on ALL DD, £25 from game.

Game upgraded everyone with a reward cards order to courier delivery when the postal strikes where on which was good. I can't really think of a bad time i've had with GAME, If i have a genuine issue and its their fault they usually give me a £5 voucher or something.

The last website redesign though is a bit naff and their search sucks, coming soon still exists though i'm pretty sure.

Either way its far better than play which is becoming rather infamous for being incompetent.

I don't really bother with retail much these days, don't get the time to.

Really? someone told me they lock your order once you get a code.

How long does it take for codes to go through?

Within minutes i got sent the email code for the beta,but since the link to the beta did not work for probebly the reasons you suggested i went back to my order at play.com and clicked on cancel.

So i have now cancelled my pre/order but have a beta code,i will let you know tomorrow if it still works if i can actually manage to get to the link to download the client.

I assume that you can cancel your order with game anyway and go to play.com for the beta code.i doubt game is cheaper anyway ?

Game cheaper by like £2 plus their postage is faster (as they are based physically in the UK).

I also get reward points and stuff and quidco, etc.

I've ordered on play and waiting to get the code and ill give it a few hrs and cancel, every preorder i've had from play has been a week late.

Basically i only went with play.com for the beta of Battlefields............Period..Personally i prefer to go collect my games on the day in question [release day] that way i know that i am not coming home or waiting around for a postman that decides he is not coming.

I understand Game upgraded the service but that was far to late in the day and they should have gone with another service and kicked the postal service into touch.

I used to love Game and for many years they never let me down either,but for a online game shop they are one of the dearest around and in the last 6 months have become a tad complacent as far as i am concerned.

Even when you send them emails you dont get the answer you expect but somebody sending you around in circles or blaming someone else.

I have emailed them many times about there website and told them about features that they have removed and the harm it may well do to online sales..........Seems to fall on deaf ears though.

Anyway if you can tell me where the coming soon feature is on games website im all ears and will retract what i have said about that part of there site.

I believe you and all i wanted was a beta code as i was itching to play the battlefields bad company 2 beta.

Besides its the pc version anyway and thats not something i would normally buy as i prefer the consoles.

I have heard that there is going to be a single player demo out on the xbox live and playstation network pretty soon anyway.
