A taste of their own medicine.

Technically gifted, but socially inept. The word nerd springs to mind.

More socially empathetic individuals would have attacked Sony's corporate systems, not the network that likeminded individuals used. Propaganda is all well and good, but picking your battles is the key to winning a war. wink

It's all conjecture. Perhaps Sony are spreading such rumours to deflect criticism of their inability to properly maintain a web-site.

It's all conjecture.

How do you come to that conclusion?

Did you read the article? If by some hollywood style fantasy the FT has been duped by the evil Sony overlords then you might be right!

If however you follow the links in the article to the annonymous website, you will see it is not conjecture. If it is fabricated, then it is annonymous up to something themselves.

You are welcome to hate Sony. I'm not a fan of any big corporation. But why defend the position of people that ruined the experience of 77 million gamers, when they should've been out looking for a girlfriend?

If you can post a link as to why it's conjecture (not the girlfriend thing, that's fact) that would be constructive. Thanks.wink

Agreed, sony's previous strategy has been to literally sue the internet, pull twitter/paypal/IP hits, etc from geohot and others sites on a massive data mining exercise.

I do suspect that sony blaming anonymous is a massive deflection and using them as a scapegoat, what would reassure people more? that some "random bunch of internet people" did it in a "revenge attack" or that some proper organised set of people did it for financial gain?

Considering data was swiped its more likely to be the latter.

You might be right. But we are not talking about whether or not annonymous are entierely responsible for the hack. We know by their own admission that they started the DOS attacks. You may be correct that someone else did the rest.

But are you seriously suggesting after reading the article and following the links in it, that the Sony corporation hacked and defaced the annonymous website??

I would of thought a hacker would be a PC orientated person?

A Sony fanboy probably wouldn't know where to start.
