Add constructively to my thread or like I said before, start your own. wink .
I asked you a question to which you responded with insults, like a sociopath.

Antisocial personality disorder (ASPD) is defined by the American Psychiatric Association's Diagnostic and Statistical Manual as "...a pervasive pattern of disregard for, and violation of, the rights of others that begins in childhood or early adolescence and continues into adulthood."[1]

[1] Antisocial personality disorder - Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders Fourth edition Text Revision (DSM-IV-TR) American Psychiatric Association (2000) - pages 645650

Actually, to insult someone who shows a persistent disregard and violation of social norms is a wholly natural and reasonable reaction, I think. Wouldn't you agree?

Thanks SPOOKish. If only this sociopath could have put it so eloquently! wink

So now you're back SPOOKish, what do you think about the anonymous thing? Have they shot themselves in the foot this time?

Although their actions will always grab headlines, could the Sony thing (whether entirely down to them or not) and their recent in-fighting have made them appear amateurish?

I think the type of actions they were carrying out with the Tunisian and Egyptian uprising would have gained them respect with the younger generation. I suspect this however would have alienated most and their own website incident makes them look like bickering adolescents.

Which Sony thing down to them? Are you talking about Sony not being competent enough to secure a web-site? Are you talking about the people who hacked into Sony capturing personal details? Are you talking about DDOS attacks against Sony in the past.

Only the latter is probably the fault of the collective called Anonymous.

To respond to a simple question with only a stream of insults doesn't add anything to a discussion.

The latter obviously. That's what it says in the question. I did not ask if Sony deserved any medals. They quite obviously don't. What I am getting at is the fact that anonymous seem to have a higher opinion of themselves than millions of gamers do. And without a doubt, millions of gamers, myself included, had empathy with their cause.

I am not defending Sony, but I think that anonymous have done themselves nothing but harm. If you proclaim to protest from a social/political standpoint, there is always the risk of going to far. Remember the defacing of war memorials in London?

If we are to believe what is reported in the linked article (from what appears to be a very reputable source), then there appears to have been some sort of internal combustion, fuelled by that very belief.

You may well be correct that somebody else was responsible for the other attacks. But if you lay with wolves, then you have to expect to get bitten eventually, and if there are any more attacks, guess who will be getting the blame.

Neither does goading, baiting or trying to manipulate a discussion into an argument. The phrase used in the post was entirely apt, used humorously, and seemingly instantly understood by other posters who replied in a constructive manner.

Reading your posts all across these forums, your own "opening gambit" is regularly false naivety. You are far more perceptive when you want to be.
