Personally if spending 1k I would want an i7 for that price & I'm sure that's very possible within the budget.

Looks a good machine though!

That's not a lot of permanent storage - I'd have a smaller SSD to hold the OS and a couple of disks for data. SSDs are still relatively expensive and have wear problems meaning I wouldn't want to rely on one for valuable data. It can take a bit of messing around to direct downloads, email containers, etc to a non-C drive (assuming you're using Windows and are doing something other than play games on it). I guess you're using the keyboard/mouse from an old PC, anything else you can salvage (maybe not disks, I had no end of trouble myself and I think the little blighters have crawled into a corner to sulk anyway!). Are you self building or buying in? I found Chillblast the most helpful people recently - for a very different spec.

2Mb/s? Not in my lifetime! (Nearly true Dec 2011)

UK and Andy thanks for comments

Bearing in mind I've included screen and speakers

i7 would push price up to just under £1,200 with everything else about the same, hmmm, where does it end ?

I should have said I have a big NAS drive on the network so the SSD is just for Windows and installed programs...
