Fifa World Beta...

[link to this post]

...is now available - it is very buggy and a real pain to do anything with. Graphics are okay-ish. Gameplay is fun, but still suffers from the multiple-kick syndrome.

Dont know whether its going to be free to play or not...

I did wonder how long it would be until they brought something like this out. Fifa Ultimate Team has been INCREDIBLY successful for EA, they have made an absolute ruck of cash from the pack purchases. Offering it as a free to play model and a standalone game was the next logical step.

It's actually quite interesting to me, as all I play on Fifa now is UT anyway. With this model you could download the game for free then spend the £30 to £40 you would spend on the actual game on packs / players. It also allows them to pick up on all the PES fans who may want to try Fifa but don't want to commit to two games.

Its an okay game - I can see that EA certainly want you to buy player packs. - will probably force you to purchase drinks at half time.

You can certainly see it's a free-to-play game. Graphics are okay, but animation should be better. Commentary isn't always consistent, and it is buggy
