New PC / Steam Machine

[link to this post]

After loads of reading I reckon I'm settling on this Syber Machine.

You can fiddle with the specs, so I have gone for white, the upgraded cooler and the AMD Kaveri A10 7850 combined CPU/GPU, as I unequivocally believe it is the future of processing and will soon be producing better results than the current "grunt" approach.

Will wait for Steam OS to release first obviously, and they even had some awesome colour options rumoured (I like orange).

About 620 quid.

Right Swanny. I've now gone for an upgradeable version. Added an AMD R9 290X and upgraded the power supply. Total of £1150 give or take.

Not to everybodys taste, but I like the idea for cooling and it's different. smile

A look inside here sounds like it's upgradable still. At least for what I might want anyway.

It's not a transformer, it's a robot in disguise.

This is their likely steam machine offering (as read elsewhere) but as of now, still in PC guise, but I wouldn't go the NVIDIA route personally.

I'm assuming Steam OS can still be installed on the Robot in Disguise and used in the same way?

I like robots.

This is it here, offered in much lower specs but with full off the shelf upgradeability.

You can always dual boot and be able to play both ways. I still like the robot one more though.
