Time for a new set of headphones

[link to this post]

These look ok. Astro A40
http://www.argos.co.uk/product/4398488

But I read this about some other headphones

Personally for this money I would get:

1) Beyerdynamic DT770 Pro Headphones - 80 Ohm £109.00 I don't think they've changed these much since the 80's largely because they are so good there is no need. Used in professional recording studios around the world.

2) Zalman ZM-MIC1 microphone £7.20 Decent affordable mic. Better quality than you will find on any gaming headset.

Total of £116.20. 24 quid cheaper and you have a real quality pair of headphones that will last you a decade or more. If you are feeling fancy you could upgrade the mic to a modmic but there's no need.

Headphones for What in particular tongueIf its for your Playstation 4 then for around £79.99 you can not get a better headset than the Gold Sony Headset for the money, which i think has a new version not long out.

Dont ask me why they call it Gold when its actually Blue and Black ?

I had some Astro A50 ,gave it to some bloke named Jorkila on here.....crazy great headset but replaced it with the turtle beach elite xbox one headset.

I have a set of the Gold Sony Headset. (only used them a couple of times) I don't like them as I can't tell which way the controls work without taking them off. Plus I don't like wireless headsets. Pain in the [censored] when the batteries die

I think my local Maplins had them and the Logitechs in store for you to try on.

Try them there and then buy on the web somewhere cheaper. wink

Cheers for that
They have the cloud at maplins for £40
http://www.maplin.co.uk/p/hyperx-cloud-core-stereo-3...
Only difference between these and the Cloud II is they don't do 7.1 which apparently doesn't work on the PS4 anyway smile

I also have a Turtle Beach Ear Force DSS 2 connected to my current headphones so I might use that

I had a very strange problem actually and it was around the time both myself and nelly invested in a set and if you think these are confusing with buttons on the Gold headset then don't ever get the Xbox One Elite headset as they have about 14 functions on the headset and its taken me about 6 months to learn whats what without taking them of, chat volume, sound presets, mute button, blue tooth and about half a dozen others.

Back to what you are talking about and myself and the Nelly problem which took i would say the best part of 1 hour for us to figure what was the problem.

Dont laugh but Nelly could not hear me and i dont think to this day there is a Right/left Ear cup marking on this set, anyway problem is i had them on the wrong way around crazy.

To be honest it was quite funny at the time but a little frustrating, l think Nelly text me and said something like you do realise they have to go on your head or something along those lines.....Seriously cracked me up.

Funny you mention it, i had a similar problem last night talking with Jorkila when we were mucking about in watchdogs 2,he could hear me but i couldn't hear him, eventually after another 20 minutes it was the stupid chat/volume button.wink.

So the buttons generally have to be on the left side of your head for it to be on the right way, to be fair on many occasions i have to either put the lights on when gaming to check the functions on any headset i use.
