Wireless died

[link to this post]
Just got home today and found that the wireless wasnt working. Normal internet wired was, just the wireless. Looking in the router stats the wireless had no channel associated with it. I rebooted the router and everything is working again now.

Any reason why it would just randomly die like that?

Maybe you were lucky and just caught the dying ripple of a lightning strike.

No lightning at all today. Dunno why they would knock wireless off and not wired tho?

Have you got security turned on? Good password?
Perhaps someone used your wireless connection then connected to the router and turned it off when they left.

Yes to both.I can track my usage aswell every 15 mins through my ISP and nothing out of the ordinary. Ive traced the loss of wireless to 00:17 on Sunday morning. Maybe its just one of those things that computers equiptment does now and again. Reboots normally fix them

SpeedTouch 585?

If not, then Channel 6, 1 or 11 normally?

If one of those and you are on XP or Vista, get inSSIDer and check for what is around you and find the best space.

Bob: Demon dialup >> Freeserve dialup >> BT Broadband >> Prodigynet >> Newnet >> O2 Standard.
Purple Cloud for domain, email and web space.
