Cabinet location?

Is there any database where I could find the cabinet location near my home?

A quick way to find is to go for a walk!
Or if you are covered by Google street view try that smile

You may find a number of PCP's on your walk.
To answer the OP, no public database.

If you aren't qualified enough to spot it for yourself I'm not sure its something you need to know.

There is a database of PCP locations but its only available to LLU providers that have completed their first exchange (which makes planning for a new LLU provider a right pain in the a**e)

The problem is that there are usually multiple green cabs in the area so you don't necessarily connect to the one you find first or closest!

Have BT ever tried to use a computer progrm to optimise the local loop as in general it has just eveloved and people may not be connected to the best cabinet etc.

I don't think BT worried about the length of the local loop when it was being laid all those years ago as it's original purpose was for telephony which isn't affected by line length.

It's only now with the arrival of broadband that line length has become such an issue!
