i am currently getting: Noise Margin 5 db 16 db not in test socket then Noise Margin 7 db 11 db in test socket and was just wondering if such a low noise margin would couse any issues

what did the speed do when you moved from the test socket ?

Anything north of 0 dB should give a tolerable error rate.

Are those download/upload SNR figures?

It would help if you post your full router stats smile

EDIT: you've replied since I posted. What type of connection are you on?

your margin was quite a bit higher upstream in one case so that looks to be capped.

Looks similar to this previous post of yours: http://forums.thinkbroadband.com/sky/t/3973836-stats...

Doesn't look too shabby to me but at that attenuation I guess it could be higher depending on what type of connection you have.
