My own theory is that the initial dates are worked out by BT's PR department... but their grasp on reality is fairly tenuous at best, and doesn't include things like electrical power availability and timing, labour availability, planning permission (in some areas) and other such trivia.

Whats the point in registering your interest for the product when they can't even be bothered to email updates?

I have complained to BT - I know they they don't give a 4 x but it made me feel better smile

Its just a shabby way to treat customers.

Well, it means you've voluntarily given them your contact details (including phone number?), so that when they cold-call you to sell you something you don't want you can't quote any of the preference services back at them...

Me, a cynic? Naah... tongue

Yup, Leenig. I've had the same delaying tactic three times, the latest being a shift from April to September.

I really hate the way BT treat customer - please BT let us the reason why these delays are occurring.

I have emailed a complaint to them and will post their reply back here.

BT - Openreach has as a customer BT Wholesale, and BT Retail is the customer of BT Wholesale

Thus when you ask retail there is lots of layers, in theory asking TalkTalk/Sky should involve less layers in reaching Openreach

I feel your pain but I guess it will arrive.

My exchange is not on the updated list or even on the 'next to do' list..

I suspect that your wait will be shorter than mine.

My local exchange has just appeared on the Openreach
"Next To Do" list with a forecast date of Sept 2011.

With all this rescheduling, I will count myself lucky if anything
happens before March 2012. Even then, there is probably no
guarantee that my street will be upgraded, even then !
