ADSL question, very important.

If I got an estimated speed of 6Mbps. My neighbour gets 6Mbps too. And there was two unlimited packages available and one of at 12Mbps and another one at 24Mbps. Should I choose 12Mbps one?

Yes. You could probably upgrade without penalty if it proved worthwhile.

If you have a router at the moment your line stats would allow a much better speed estimate.

Sounds like Be, so yes they can upgrade easily.
