O2 broadband activation problem

I've moved house recently and moved my o2 broadband which was meant to be activated today but wasn't. I called them and they said bt openreach hadn't opened a port required for broadband and it might take another 5 days. Why is this and does anyone have any experience of it??? Cheers!!

House moves and activations always carry the risk of work being delayed, so sounds like it was something like that
