Waiting for 21CN?

[link to this post]

Check your exchange status on samknows. My RFS date is now up for 31/08/2012, and I am guessing a few exchanges enabled for ADSLmax in 2004 will also get the same treatment. Let's see.

Added a very expensive RFS countdown on my connection data link too. smile

Interviewer: ”Is that a bad thing?”

Scottish Labour politician: “No, but they are doing it deliberately.”

My tiny exchange of approx 4,861 residential premises and 294 non-residential premises has just been given the same 21CN WBC date.

For a minute, I had to do a double-take, as I thought (hoped) I was reading the FTTC status line!

No 21CN date for mine, although it has had one on and off in the past.

It is getting FTTC imminently, and it appears that (from looking at the exchanges in the area that already have it) BT seems to do ADSL2+ not long after FTTC is made available.

That's odd. I don't think there is any connection. (Sorry if that looks like a pun).

For FTTC the fibre from the cabinet has to go to a ADSL2+ (WBC-enabled) exchange, which doesn't need to be the one to which the phone line is attached. If the phone line exchange then gets enabled for WBC then it must be that running fibre to the other one was easier/cheaper.
