Do we keep copper alongside FTTC?

I can just about understand the fibre concept and we are due to get a fibre cabinet in the next few months. Will these eventually replace copper, or will they operate side by side?

I keep applying for broadband call centre jobs. Always get turned down. Something to do with having the wrong attitude to callers when given an in-house trial.
