BT speed test gone crackers?

[link to this post]

I just ran a test. It was very quick, and the Results page contained
1. Best Effort Test:

Download Speed : 37 Mbps

2. Upstream Test:

Upload Speed : 1.79 Mbps
That was all.

So I typed all this, and ran a beta one, to make sure I wasn't going mad. That was as it usually is, nothing like the standard one.

Then I tried the proper one again and it allowed me! This was all within 5 minutes. Results came out as we usually see.

Yeah, BT did some work on the platform a few weeks ago and it has been much quicker ever since.

As you probably notice, the downside to the new faster update is that the Sync Speed Readings which it used to display on the results page are no longer present frown.

My Broadband Speed Test

Downstream Upstream
Connection Speed: 24184 kbps 1211 kbps
Line Attenuation: 16.5 db 6.4 db
Noise Margin: 0.5 db 6.2 db

This was even faster. And all that was displayed is what I pasted here. Nor did it prevent me following with a Beta and then a full one.

I tried it yesterday afternoon and it appeared to complete but then stated it couldn't.
I tried it again right after and it did work (still shows a faster up speed than my supposed maximum):

Download Speed
6.67 Mbps
0 Kbps 7.15 Mbps
Max Achievable Speed

Download speed achieved during the test was - 6.67 Mbps
For your connection, the acceptable range of speeds is 2 Mbps-7.15 Mbps.
IP Profile for your line is - 6.76 Mbps

2. Upstream Test: -provides background information.
Upload Speed
978 Kbps
0 Kbps 832 Kbps
Max Achievable Speed

Upload speed achieved during the test was - 978Kbps
Additional Information:
Upstream Rate IP profile on your line is - 832 Kbps

When I run it from home (nothing changed, tied 3 different PC's) it no longer reports the IP Profile setting but gives an error message saying it cannot be retrieved. When I run it from a different physical location & different line it works fine.

I've upgraded my Java but makes no difference - any suggestions ???

Thanks for your help
