That's the behind of the backplate though. You think that's what he's looking at? I hadn't thought of that, though the colours agree. I've a feeling some of his posts wouldn't make sense if that was the case, so I'll have to read though again later.

Edit - just realised - I think you mean that's his?

Red and White still appear to be connected to A&B - test socket should still be OK?

Yes, we have established that the ORANGE and white are the feed, and all is well at the test socket, also that the green/black of the dropwire feeds the extensions elsewhere.
What isn't clear is why, according to the OP, it doesn't all work when reattached.

Right smile

Green and black are my unused incoming pair - so in this case the OP needs the green and black pair connected for an extension elsewhere which presumably became disconnected when the faceplate was removed when the plasterer unscrewed the entire nte5 from the wall?

Sounds like the the OP has a line that has been backended.

Yours is just a spare pair.

And the wires are long enough to reach to the back of the faceplate. So a junction box somewhere where the green and black change to whatever the stripey ones are at the extension.

We now need to know the colour on T2 and T5 at the terminal, and he has to find the junction box so we can see which way round to connect the black and green.

Umm no. The broadband should be working through the ADSL faceplate frown.

Well actually incoming redish/orangish smile and white together with green and black go to an external junction box then from there I have only have blue/white and white/blue (using an external quality 3pair cable) connected to the internal nte5.

Interesting that one can use the redundant pair to feed an extension but I guess that would require a junction box prior to the nte5?
