Netgear Advanced Router Stats

[link to this post]

Hey all,

Just wondering if anyone could let me know what the following router stats indicate and what to look for to identify any problems please? These are from accessing my Netgear N600 via a telnet session:

Total time = 10 min 22 sec
FEC: 0 0
CRC: 17 0
ES: 14 0
SES: 0 0
UAS: 47 47
LOS: 0 0
LOF: 0 0
LOM: 0 0

Total time = 10 min 22 sec
FEC: 0 0 (Forward Error Corrections. A count of corrected errors when on interleaved, always zero on fast path. You are probably on fast pasth as I would expect some FECs even in as short a time as 10 minutes).
CRC: 17 0 (Cyclic Redundancy Check. Not quite sure how it works but it is a count of cells with a certain type of unrecoverable error. Maybe if you google it?).
ES: 14 0 (Error Seconds. Means slightly different things with different routers. I believe some it is a count of seconds in which there were any errors at all, and some it is a count of seconds with some "trigger" number of seconds).
SES: 0 0 (Serious Error Seconds. A count of seconds with a significantly high number of errors, possibly substantially affecting performance. Often indicates a fault).
UAS: 47 47 (Don't know).
LOS: 0 0 (Loss Of Signal).
LOF: 0 0 (Loss Of Framing. When there are errors at the start or end of a frame that screw up the detection of the frame start/end).
LOM: 0 0 (Don't know).

You are probably on fast path
If you are then you will have a line (2 actually):
D: 1 1
Otherwise those #s will be >1 indicting Interleaved depth.

Your ES are slightly borderline. Expect better than 1 ES per min on Fast Path.

In http://forums.thinkbroadband.com/general/t/4135618-r...

467 + 14 = 8 min 11 sec!

Duh! There's still a discrepancy of 10 secs.

Maybe they added 11 leap seconds instead of 1 leap second this time. The fella doubled-clicked the "1" key.
