Strange Sync

[link to this post]

Something strange is happening on my line

i usually sync between 4600 and 4800, give a throughput a 4mb my noise margin is usually 9.

these are my stats now, i have had this sync for the last 30hrs or so i have done a couple of re syncs ( first login to router and disconnect session) , and it stays at the figure below

3808 kbps 448 kbps
Line Attenuation 40.0 db 21.0 db
Noise Margin 6.4 db 19.0 db

so my sb is near 6 and my sync as gone down if anything this should have gone up.

spoke to my ISP they say the checks come back fine, what could the problem be? many thanks

You should be synching at anything between around 6Meg on ADSL to somewhere short of 9Meg on ADSL2+. Who is your ISP and what service are you on?

Have you got a set of stats when using the master test socket, the ISP should have asked you to do this.

ISP is within its rights to say that, as this is just a slow connection rather than a fault.

Stats from actual next door connection would be interesting, as would help to assess whether its an issue with your line or a neighbourhood wide noise issue.

always plugged into the test socket.
Do you mean you have the faceplate removed permanently? Or are you confusing test socket with external socket of master?

Because they have to force a resync at the time of reseting noise margin.

Also a noise margin reset will do nothing as you appear to be on the default 6dB anyway
