Wobbly SNR all of a sudden.

[link to this post]

Had a steady SNR for years since exchange was enabled in 2004, but last couple of days it has been varying about 2-3db usually lucky if I got 0.5db variance. This enabled me to run an SNR of 1.5db with a Sync of 19 mbit. Had to lower my sync to 17 mbit now with this new variance, any theories?

Bought anything new? DECT phone, vacuum cleaner, washing machine, Sky box? Etc.

Disconnected everything you can from the phone line? Replaced any filters?

Disconnected and reconnected all ADSL/Ethernet/power cables to do with the phone line and anything connected to the phone line? At both ends?

Nothing new just a dog, LOL. As far as I can tell it started wobbling about 6pm yesterday. Will have to fondle plugs and reconnect wires to see if any difference, thanks Bob.

Damn I cant read graphs, started at 6pm today right around the time someone was hoovering. Re-arranged DSL cable, swapped filter down to 11 mbit sync, damn. Put everything back as it was with original filter and stable at 1.8db 19 mbit for now. Weird.

So maybe a cable got dislodged, or there's something going wrong inside that cleaner or its plug. Possibly the cleaner's power cable got run over or pulled in, and now has a "break" in it, but still works.

Watch and wait smile.

Dont think it was the cleaner Bob as the SNR was still varying when it was off. Suspect some cables have been disturbed during cleaning and I have put them back how they were. But as you say watch and wait.
