BT Fon from another ISP?

[link to this post]

Given that most broadband come from BT via a ISP, is there a service provider that offers fast broadband ( 20 meg+) and access to BT Fon/WiFi other than BT?
I'm on BT infinity package 2 and looking to shave the cost but keep WiFi access for when we are at a remote cottage in Scotland, where I currently get BT fon @ 1 meg.

No as the arrangement between BT and other ISPs is a wholesale carrier one where they supply the DSL only and backhaul the traffic to an ISP's edge router.

Fon is a BT Retail product only.

Virgin (ADSL) => Namesco => Newnet => O2 => Plusnet => Zen => Newnet => Zen => Freeola => Vivaciti (using O2 Wholesale DSL) => Xilo (C&W Wholesale) => Xilo (O2 Wholesale)
Note: I don't lay turf for anyone. astro or otherwise, all views and opinions expressed are my own based on experience.

Thanks for that. It's as I expected I'm stuck with BT for the foreseeable future if I want free WiFi in a remote area. I know I can buy access. I will have to sit down and do the sums.

MaxDSL - goes as fast as it can and doesn't read the line checker first.

Fon is a BT Retail product only.

Strictly "BT Fon" is a BT Retail only, but FON isn't and if you have a router of theirs or other membership you can use BT Fon hotspots for free.
