ADSL question

[link to this post]

Can anyone shed any light on how my connection is performing. Im currently on LLU (Daisy) and when I download a large file it maxes out the connection according to TBB meter for 5 seconds then drops a megabit and settles there. Any ideas?

What are speedtesters saying for the connection.

The bahaviour may be nothing to do with the broadband service

Single threads are all over the place, multiple threads max the line for a few seconds then start to wobble. Tried two different routers and same results. Errored seconds are zero during download of files. Speedtesters are bursty as in they are fooled by the initial max download then stop when the speed is about to reduce. Heres a TBB meter grab.

This screengrab shows the initial burst of speed then drop off. A few months ago it used to max out my line downloading mutltiple threads, eg the burst seen in the screenshot would carry on for the whole file.

The only thing that has changed to my knowledge is O-bit has been taken over by Daisy and now my public IP shows as Daisy instead of O-bit.

Wired only.

Heres some test results from the last month, 15 second multi thread downloads every hour.

Am I being too fussy?

Further testing with good servers shows my line capable of 17.1 mbits but I cant get past about 14.1 mbits after the initial few seconds download of 17.1. Daisy is now unlimited, some sort of DLM like BT does?
