does bt fon work

[link to this post]

Quite a long time ago I posted a topic on bt fon zon I can now get to the log in screen and guess what still cannot log in with my bt email address and password so nothing has changed. and I am still paying vodaphone a fortune for buying a 3 g dongle and charging me 1 euro an hour for certainly not even 1k of bandwidth. The positive thing is that the number of wifi places has increased so that I dont need bt or fon or zon so they are vcitims of their own uselessness in as far as I am concerned. Now I have given up with bt fon and zon and just use the free ones.

I have FON access from running a Fonera+ router and I can access FON hot spots with no problem. I had to register at http://www.fon.com/en/main which takes me to https://www.btfon.com/userzone after my login.

I'd guess that you maybe need to register with BT Fon as well as with BT.

You'd probably be better off asking in the BT specific section of TBB or the BT community forum at http://community.bt.com/ As cross posting isn't allowed on TBB I'd suggest you try the latter first. You probably need to register there too before you can post.

BTFON/BTWIFI works fine for me, I use it all over the place because there are so many hotspots around the UK.

My mother who is 65years old also uses it when she's overseas on holiday through FON spots, no problem connecting for years, very easy and simple to do even though she isnt tech savvy.

I use it often with my FON sign-on, not least because my phone keeps latching on to BT-FON signals as they are open (no encryption).

Using next door's Homehub, I can't login via the BT Fon home page, but can via the BT Fon Maps page, clicking the 'Login to WiFi now' tab and selecting BT Broadband.

I can also login via the BT Openzone site, although it seems to take longer to access.
