Want to get a PC for just £24?

If you are in receipt if Housing Benefit, Income Support, Pension Credit and numerous other benefits then you are eligible to get "no-nonsense" refurbished desktop and laptop computers.

A fully working desktop computer costs £99, while a laptop is £149.

People who sign up for the £2.99-a-month broadband package before the end of June with ISP's including Plusnet, TalkTalk, Virgin and Sky will receive a £75 discount on those prices, making a desktop PC cost £24!

All computers sold as part if the scheme have a minimum specification, with a 2GHz processor, 1GB of memory, a 60GB hard disk, monitor, keyboard, mouse and a 12-month warranty.

If going to advertise the scheme do mention the little bits like voice line rental and contract commitments

All is detailed on the link, I thought people if interested would see that prior to ordering as its clearly displayed. Sorry.

Thought those on low incomes would find it helpful, especially if not already in a contract or know others who want to get online but can't afford to.

I wouldn't say "All" is detailed in the link. For a start, 'refurbished' doesn't really describe what outdated limping junk you may end up with. As usual, add everything up and you arrive at 'No such thing as a free lunch'.

If you have the contacts, I noticed the blurb above the two minimum specs both say "laptop".

I would not want to get by on 1Meg of ram, especially running Windoze. An Android tablet with 1/2 Meg would do better.

At £24, you could buy two, and have two sticks of RAM. tongue

"Microsoft Windows 7 operating software" - gosh, the PC must be cheaper than free.
