Postcode Administrator?

It bears little resemblance to the definitive (and correct) Royal Mail listing, and seems to have arisen because of various changes that occurred during the conversion of former industrial buildings to dwellings - several years ago now! It is obvious that entries overtaken by later information have not been deleted, and need to be removed/ updated.

Does anyone know who to contact who might be able to get this corrected? I'm not with BT btw, but this seems to be my best route for checking on broadband availability. It would be nice if it were at least up to date...

A mess as in the order is foobar, or there are factual inaccuracies?

Suspect it is an automatic import with updates and manual updates for one entry may be difficult.

In first instance current ISP should have the contacts to talk to the right people, failing that it is the Openreach site

Hi Andrew, thanks for the prompt response and the OR link, which I couldn't find; I'll try that first.

Yes some of the info is out of order, but mostly it's repeated entries that have been overtaken/ updated, without removing the old, redundant ones, so effectively factually inaccurate.

But is is almost certainly an import from the Post Office Post Code file ... if you know someone with a copy, try that too and see if it shows the same list.

Found that the various options available on the OR site effectively excluded that route for reporting this so I've lodged a query with my provider, Talktalk Business, and in response to their initial reply, I've provide a bit more info. I am now awaiting developments...

Sorry, I can't see how this affects you. I assume you can correctly select your address.

Yes, I can, so in one sense I'm not disadvantaged. It just irritates the hell out of me that some couldn't care less admin somewhere in the bowels of some nondescript admin block somewhere can't be bothered to get the details right, when they're readily available, (ie, Royal Mail), and it's been at least 5 years since any updates to the postcode/ address details were negotiated. Pedantic maybe, but there ye go... wink
