[link to this post]

Hello I'm just about too move into my first flat.I'm choosing sky for the phone and broadband anyone know if my broadband will go live the same day as openreach install the phone line? It did say I would get between 5.9 and 11.5 meg, Anyone know if sky is good for gaming online with Xbox live (COD)

Many Thanks

The line will be a full LLU service, so should be connected to both the Sky phone and broadband system on the first day it is live.

Speeds will start at 4 Mbps and then rise.

Sky is generally fine for xbox live stuff.

Yes, it'll be live. The BB signal is coming from the same equipment as the Sky speech (basically) so as soon as the engineer is finished, just plug in the router, and you'll be good to go.

I *believe* that Sky will start you with a capped sync rate and will then let the kit their end tweak it for a couple of days to get the speed/stability right. So don't panic if it's not as quick as you had hoped to start with.

Thanks for the replies guys.

Do I have to request the gaming profile or will it go on automatically?

Thanks

Does not exist any more I believe.

My Xbox gaming works fine without any special tweaks
