Unrequested line test

We have noticed that a 17070 Openreach quiet line test and a call to 08000665378 was done externally on our telephone line recently (showed up on our Truecall log) but we haven't reported a fault ?

Is this normal practice or should I be concerned ?

With Plusnet FTTC and currently on their Youview trial

I would guess that the logger is continually monitoring the line and that any dialling is picked up whether or not it is from the premises or not.

A BT Tech could have been working at the cabinet and tidying up cables or replacing a multipair cable which resulted in disconnecting yours for a few seconds. To check the correct pair was reconnected he could dial both those numbers.

So, nothing to worry about and no charges will be incurred.

based on something I read today on revk's blog my guess is your pair was been tested by an install engineer to see if its a spare.
