What's the catch?

Other than no Giga ports, what's the catch?

Too good to be true?

I have an ASUS RT-N66U and that dongle, (downloaded drivers as I have no DVD drive on my ASUS Win 8.1 laptop), gives a lousy 5GHz connection. Throughput speeds all over the place. I've reverted to the built-in 150Mbps "g" card at 72Mbps. Had to delete the drivers as they were running as a service all the time and messing me up.

My router is fine, with a Galaxy SIII and an iPad Air connected on 5GHz.

although it claims 'ac' its only at the 433 rate,
bt hub5 will do ac to 1300, (though their dongle is only up to 866, and then limited by the usb2 speed!)

does look a reasonable buy though

edit: looks like the router part will do 733, dongle 433. does look good at that price,

Amazon prime has it for £25 - the reviews are disappointing

Yes, I was referring to the fact the retailer is DABS. They used to be excellent but I always feel queasy about them now.

I haven't a clue about the standard of the ASUS modem/router.

It arrived today, so far I've only tested the dongle. That runs well with my HH5 - it's currently reporting a 315 Mbps connection.

I got high connection speeds. BTW and tbb speedtests, and real use experience, was throughput all over the place, usually poor.

No problem with the speeds, although I notice the latest drivers fix a speed issue.
