I hope, after yesterday's achievement, we will have no more complaints of latencies less than 56mins...........

I'm guessing the bandwidth of the connection is not exactly super-fast either.

One of the senior guys who was talking to the public yesterday said that data was coming through. they could see the bits arriving at Rosetta from the lander and see them coming down to them. I did wonder ....

The Register said it was 26.6k - so doesn't even meet the minimum standards for the UK smile

Does BT not have a universal service commitment to provide the craft with at least 28.8K - ESA should ask for compensation.

It was launched before BT condescended to connect me to an ADSL service because of the high signal loss on my phone line, and apart from providing ADSLMAX BT have not done much to offer a better the service since, although the cost of the service has halved.

Mmmm, Just dont tell the communication industry and its experts, it would appear its harder to swap a customer from LLU back onto the BT network, than land a probe on stone few hundred million miles from home, thats what they like you to believe anyway.
