Night time loss of sync

[link to this post]

My router emails me its log and I noticed there was a loss of synch lat night. I rarely get them but normally they last a matter of seconds but last night it was five minutes.

Could this be caused by exchange maintenance? Or my ISP remotely rebooting something? I'm on an AOL/TalkTalk LLU connection.

Router log:
Wed, 2015-03-11 02:51:42 - LCP down.
Wed, 2015-03-11 02:51:49 - Initialize LCP.

If it was just LCP down rather than a resync suggests a reboot of something on the ISP side, or some maintenance taking out the authenticated session.

I think it was a resynch (as well as LCP down) because it says 'loss of sync' and the sync rate changed.

Could a resynch be caused by ISP maintenance?

If they do something to the DSLAM then yes, or it was just a random blip

I guess it was maintenance as it was off for 5 mins.

I wonder how often they do maintenance work at night - it seems the obvious time I suppose but it must be an extra cost to employ people at night.
