BT DSL Checker

[link to this post]

I've been looking at FTTC availability in St Andrew's for a job at work.

When I put in the postcode KY16 9LB I get a list of different addresses, most of which are fed by cabinet 15.

This one for example:
Address COSMOS COMMUNITY CENTRE, ABBEY WALK, ST ANDREWS, KY16 9LB on Exchange ST ANDREWS is served by Cabinet 15

Shows:

High Low High Low
FTTC Range A (Clean) 80 60.8 20 20 -- Available
FTTC Range B (Impacted) 74.8 48.4 20 12.2 -- Available

WBC ADSL 2+ Up to 13 -- 7.5 to 17.5 Available
WBC ADSL 2+ Annex M Up to 13 Up to 1 7.5 to 17.5 Available
ADSL Max Up to 6.5 -- 5.5 to 8 Available
WBC Fixed Rate 2 -- -- Available
Fixed Rate 2 -- -- Available

This one:
Address ST ANDREWS NURSERY, ABBEY WALK, ST ANDREWS, KY16 9LB on Exchange ST ANDREWS is served by Cabinet 15

Shows:
WBC ADSL 2+ Up to 7 -- -- Available
WBC ADSL 2+ Annex M Up to 7 Up to 0.5 -- Available
ADSL Max Up to 5.5 -- -- Available
WBC Fixed Rate 2 -- -- Available
Fixed Rate 2 -- -- Available
Other Offerings
Fibre Multicast -- -- -- 31-May-15
Copper Multicast -- -- -- Available

They're fed by the same cabinet and Abbey Walk isn't a long road, so how can one show as FTTC available and one not?

Cheers

Postcode checker not reliable. Use Address checker.

Does look like something is wrong, only thought may be that there is an oddity in the cable routing, down one side of Abbey Street from South Street and then only crossing over once it gets to Balfour Place to return on the other side, thus lengthening the cable routing considerably, but even then would not expect that distance to be too far.

Down to the people who cannot order to raise it via their provider really, or there is something funky with the phone line to the Nursery

It looks like he is putting the postcode into the address checker, then selecting individual addresses. That works fine.

Hi Andrew,

Do you have information on where PCP 15 is located? I had a brief look for it the other day but couldn't see it.

Cheers,
