Basically any providers not using telephone lines to provide xDSL.

Satellite/Wireless/Virgin... aswell as the smaller fiber ISPs like hyperoptic etc.

Virgin Media cable.
Gigaclear.
Possibly Hyperoptic.
Hull is only covered by KCom.
Sky and TalkTalk have a joint venture in York to do FTTP.

Then there are satellite services and a few Wireless broadband providers, six pages listed here. (That's not mobile broadband).

The indispensable man or woman passes from the scene, and what happens next is more or less the same thing as was happening before.
My broadband basic info/help site - www.robertos.me.uk. Domains, site and mail hosting - Tsohost.
Connection - AAISP Home::1 80/20. Sync 59997/15142kbps @ 600m. - BQM

Ahh ok that makes sense, cheers.

Basically been on the phone to sky today to see about getting quicker broadband but was basically told that 1.5-2mbps was the best I could hope for, unless I looked at a provider that doesn't use openreach but wouldn't go into more detail for obvious reasons.

On another note I've looked into going with virgin before but they don't provide in my area so....

Any other options other than moving house??

Hello

If you live in a development, you can see if Hyperoptic is an option by checking your postcode via our website hyperoptic.com. We install a dedicated fibre infrastructure so you can experience 20Mb, 100Mb or 1Gb speeds.

Good luck!
