Continually decreasing speeds

[link to this post]

Over the past ~6 months or so, my line speed has been decreasing and there has been no obvious cause. In Oct 2015, an unsuccessful attempted router change caused the line speed to decrease from a perfect sync (80/20) to around 60Mbps with the upload unaffected. Slowly but surely, the line speed has decreased even though I left the modem and router on for ages non-stop, with no increase in line speed. As of yesterday, the line profile stood around about 45mbps down and 19 up.

I'm currently in the process of switching from Plusnet to TalkTalk to get rid of the BT backhaul (for other reasons). Yesterday, I switched from the Plusnet-provided TG582n to the Super Router (HG633) before the due date, it connected without any problems but overnight the line speed dropped 10mbps and now latency is so bad that online games are affected. I was wondering if it could be the ECI cab and the Huawei chipset in the router mix?

Anyway, there is no noise or hissing on the line and from what I know, no aluminium. The line was perfect for over a year since getting FTTC. It's a mystery to me as to why it's gone to pot recently, I used to be able to ignore it but now its getting noticeable in everyday use. Anyone have any ideas? Any help would be greatly appreciated. I can give router stats if needed

Simple...crosstalk

As more people sign up on your cabinet you receive a bit more interference from their lines.

30% of sync is not unusual.

Router Stats:

DSL synchronization status: Up
Connection status: Showtime
Upstream line rate (kbit/s): 17814
Downstream line rate (kbit/s): 36778
Maximum upstream rate (kbit/s): 17368
Maximum downstream rate (kbit/s): 85656
Upstream noise safety coefficient (dB): 5.5
Downstream noise safety coefficient (dB): 12.3
Upstream interleave depth: 227
Downstream interleave depth: 2845
Line standard: VDSL2
Upstream line attenuation (dB): 31
Downstream line attenuation (dB): 15.7
Upstream output power (dBm): -5.3
Downstream output power (dBm): 13.5
Channel type: Interleaved

Surely crosstalk would not eliminate more than 50% of the download speed but leave upload practically untouched?

No, DLM has capped your speed due to disconnections.
