Yes... I saw that news item.

I had a pet cockatoo many years ago and it was very friendly. It would sit on my shoulder and nibble my ear. But give it a wooden cotton reel and it would reduce it to woodchips in about 30 seconds. They have very powerful beaks!

I wonder why they have developed a penchant for broadband cabling?

When young we used to baby-sit a macaw for a few weeks whilst the owner went on hols ...... used to watch that crack brazils with its beak

Rats and mice like PVC - the type used in twin and earth cable ! Apparently it is one of the additives that attract them, so I wonder if the birds are attracted in a similar way.
