BT Line Rental

[link to this post]

Wednesday 8th November 2017.
Have just received an email from BT saying my Line Rental of £18.99 will be reduced to
ZERO in January 2018, repeat ZERO.
Can someone please explain how this has suddenly come about.
Totally confused.
FYI I have always paid this BT Line Rental and never ever taken any ISP offer which includes line rental.

Luck? Or more likely a mistake and something has gone wrong with an email merge. Or possibly it's spam?

Have a VERY careful look at any links in the email ... look for odd characters BT.com or BŢ.com are they the same or different? Is that a failed pixel or spot of dust under the Ţ ?

If everything checks out - I would guess it is an error!

If it was the same email that I recieved it was an offer for broadband to be added to your existing BT landline for zero, ie pay the existing £18.99 line rental but it includes adsl broadband for no extra cost.
I did try and follow the link, firstly with it being stopped by uBlock because it went via doubleclick and then when I tried to buy it it failed and said I would have to phone them.
(broadband currently with Sky, may consider moving one way or the other when my LRS comes up for renewal in January).

Mine said my line rental will change by £0.00, not to £0.00.

Looks like my big mistake as suggested by Cheshire_Man.

Email says:
On 7th January 2018 your monthly price will change by:
Line Rental..................£0.00.( all this is very BOLD letters).

My big mistake afraid.
Thanks for all replies.+
