'EO lines'

[link to this post]

I note here and there on't forums mention of 'EO lines', without explanation. Search, of course, is no help.
Is this something that comes along on mopeds after dark, or is there a 'decode' this ould buffer can manage?

'Exchange Only'. Means a line that directly connects a property to the exchange without any intermediate cabinet. Notorious for not supporting VDSL. Some of them have now been routed through a newly created cabinet.

A (very minor) correction ...

What is connected directly to the exchange is the DP.
