Despite my obvious bias, I think mine was the best. The Emachine from Argos is an awful make (a modern day 'time'), the ebay deal is gone (and it was probably a repackaged return anyway). A compaq from ebuyer though? Can't go wrong. It's a good laptop for the money.

Really? That ebay deal is still available, you'll probably have to hurry up though:

Oyy (seller on ebay) is a highly respected retailer, and if they say item is brand new then item will be brand spanking new. That ebuyer deal is also good but i would lean towards the HP laptop on ebay because of the 3 year warranty...that extra 2 years will be worth at least £50 so good for peace of mind.

Looking at Oyy this is also appears to be a good value laptop (4gb ram, 500gb hard disk) though i've got no idea what kind of brand MSI is (budget i suspect but i might wrong!)
