I would really try and stay away from pc world / cirrus refurbs

Usually they are returned by customers as something doesn't work

Eg one of the USB sockets might not work

Then a 3rd party company " tests" to see if it's actually broke

This seems to involve "does it turn on." if yes, tell currys to resell it

I went through 3 refurbs and all had problems from currys

You can get just as good specs brand new for a similar price. I'll look later when I'm not on my iPhone!

I have used SVP in the past. Prices reasonable, delivey good and no quibble if you need to return something.

Of course, you might like to compare like with like at Amazon.

If your eyesight is up to it, get as small a footprint as you can as they are lighter to carry around and battery will power it for longer.

As for software, like MS Office, try-

You (or anyone for that matter) don't need to be a Student though, as they interpret the word liberally!

Good luck.

If you could stretch your budget to £399 this machine is very well specced:

Seems easily the best value around at the moment.
