Mounting Hard Drives

[link to this post]

I need to mount an internal hard drive - but there are no bays available.

In the past, I have seen an expansion card with just mounting holes and no circuity. It slotted into a motherboard - but obviously no connections and had a back panel mounting plate. A Hard drive was fitted to it and connected as usual.

Any ideas where I can get one from?

That would be ideal - but need one to take a 3.5" and does not need to be removable!

Get an old PCI card, drill a few holes in it, and away you go.

I'm afraid this is another use I've had for velcro. Used it to secure hard drives in stationary boxes.

Anything from here fit the bill if you have one or more empty 5 1/4 " (i.e. optical drive) bays free.

Unfortunately not ...

If there is an adapter to take 2 x 3.5" in a single optical fine, but that will be over size!

If you're out of 3.5 and 5.25 bays, sounds like a great time to upgrade the case.
