Slow SSD on MacBook Pro

[link to this post]

Just replaced the HDD with an SSD on my Macbook Pro. Seems a lot quicker but not as snappy as I was hoping. It's a SanDisk Ultra Plus 256GB SSD.

Benchmarks show really good performance apart from Random 4K reads. Could this be the problem: http://grab.by/pHu2

I don't think TRIM works correctly on OSX under non apple installed SSD. So I believe if you install your own SSD it will not be as good as an apple laptop such as a macbook air which comes with an SSD from factory. This could account for some of the slowdown you're feeling.

I've patched the kernel to allow TRIM support.
