RAM week number/year

[link to this post]

Just looking at the details for my new Crucial RAM using CPUID, everything checks out except the manufacture date which says week 10 / year 24. Is this a mistake or can someone translate?

Could be an error in either memory or CPUID.

Can you get a copy of Speccy and see what that says? Is it the same on both? and also are te serial numbers close together?

I have just run them both on this machine and they give Wk28 Year 10 which is about right.

Speccy says 10 / 24 also and serial numbers are the same for 4 modules.

My guess is that it's month and day number. This is very common. The year number can probably be determined by other means.

My other Crucial memory bought from a shop says week 17 / year 09 which looks right but who knows.

E-mail Crucial support. They'll probably tell you. Say that you're just curious.

According to Crucial Engineering there should be a code on the label, 201636 which equates to 1 September 2016 as they have a good "turnaround" on these modules, but they have no idea why CPUID is not picking this up. Good to know.
