Hey guys moving my router away from the BT master socket, looking to move it around 10 metres away (cable length).

There for a need a new rj11, using adsl2+ get 17.5 meg so need one that can support that speed and is also resistance to interefence which I can get quite a bit of in the house.

I can seem to find one that do 7 metres but not 10. I ahve found some from chinia but god know what wauility they would be lol

I have to say don't bother. If an issue occurs in future BT openreach and your ISP will not be happy.

It's far better to keep the rj11 cable short

& then run ethernet cables from the back of the router to where needed.

Or use wireless.

If you are going to do it anyway, this isn't bad

Why shielded? Ordinary twisted 2pair Cat5/5e would be fine. The incoming cables are not shielded just twisted and where would you earth the shield to on RJ11/12 sockets?

Be careful with the Belkin stuff. The one I had used a few years ago had 4 wires with pins 1 & 2 twisted, and then 3 & 4 twisted and not the inner pair twisted together. This one may be correct though.

I would NEVER recommend Belkin except for their Surgemaster range. Their cables are way overpriced and claims exaggerated.

I am not sure if they have corrected that error, but would be interested to know if someone buys one. The correct arrangement should be 2&3 (the centre 2 pins) wired as one pair and 1&4 wired as a second pair.
