Have just turned everything off agian, then restarted the HH then waited and restarted the bush decoder and it now seems to work with the ethernet to ethernet connection.....there's obviously some intermittent bug somewhere..... (possibly with the bush software)
Hi, connect the TV and router direct without the home plugs to see if it works without problems. I see you have done that.

With the Samsung TV, I input the TV IP address on the TV screen with the remote and gave it a Static IP address not within the DHCP range.

I have a homehub2 and freesat and yesterady managed to connect everything up successfully to access iplayer. Freesat have told me I need to ask BT for a fixed IP address, which BT do not do. Any ideas.....
Hi, configure your TV or Freesat box like you would configure a computer Network adapter card.

Go into Network settings within TV or Freesat box and manual configure Internet Protocol setup with fixed (Static IP Address).

Static IP Address must not be within the router DHCP server range

If the BT Home Hub2 Router IP Address 192.168.1.254

IP Address: 192.168.1.6 <--- TV or Freesat box (Static IP Address)
Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0
Gateway: 192.168.1.254

DNS Server: 192.168.1.254

3. I turn the HH off everynight so that my children aren't on facebook/skype until the early hours.

I put the HH in powesave mode every evening from 12am to 6am and the unit never looses anything, and to use the web you have to press buttons on the HH

To do this go to: bthomehub.home
click Settings, then log in,
select Activate Power Save Mode, and enter the times you want the HH to be unaccessable,

click Apply
