Connect Laptop tp TV

I have a Panasonic TV with connections for HDMI Cable and Ethernet which are both on my HP and Acer Laptops.
The TV has Viera facility.I can use this for displaying photos.and playing music but cannot get it connected to the internet.
Any help appreciated

You do not mention TV model. Assume you want to connect to Internet direct from TV.
TV must have Viera Cast or Viera Connect and direct Wired or Wireless to Router
In Menu - Setup do you have network connection sub menu

As stated your TV must be connected to your router via Ethernet cable or by wireless, to connect via wireless you need a Panasonic USB wireless adapter.

I find the best way to configure your TV or any device connected to your network is, give it a static IP address, then your router and you will always find your TV and devices on the network. The static IP addresses must not be within your router DHCP server range.
