YouView Channels

[link to this post]

I recently aquired a YouView+ box (the BT branded Humax DTR-T1000)

Are there any providers that do the "premium" channels without having to take their broadband as I am quite happy with my 152Mb Virgin connection right now.

Not that I know of. The only providers that do the premium IP channels I believe are BT, PlusNet and TalkTalk. I am also not sure if the box is locked to BT for the premium channels or if you could, for example, use it on a TalkTalk connection.

I believe they deliver the content using multi casting within the network and so wouldn't be easy (or possibly cost effective) to provide via other ISPs.

as others have said its just BT, TT and PN that offer the premium channels and you do have to have their broadband to receive these channels as they are sent over the providors network, The box its self although branded as BT on the outside the box will pick up any channels from any of the 3 ISP it plugged into one of their network

if used with VM or any other ISP not listed it will just re brand its self into a retail YV box and you'll still be able to use NETFLIX, NOW TV, BBC Iplayer ETC

Will the record functions work?
Also will the 7day epg where you can go back to whatever day you wish, and press play to watch the show?

Thanks

Yes - These are standard YV functions and not reliant on a subscription to any services.
