In reply to a post by P7L:
Bit of a random & cheeky one...not seen anyone mention it yet.

Does anyone know how long after your start date you're able to sort out the staff broadband deal?
Thanks

Fairly quickly if you already have a bt telephone line if not then you need to get that first before ordering it. You cant have any active orders on your account so make sure all orders have completed before making the request.
It can take a couple of weeks for a line provide/transfer so if you know your starting soon do it soon f as I say you don't have a bt line. That way once you have your laptop you can put in your request.

Hello all, my start date is Sept 18th; a while away I know so I was wondering if anyone has heard of anyone being offered a start date then later being told there is no job available. Or is it a case once you've been told you've been successful and have a start date you definitely have a job; I just haven't had a contract yet.

Great, thanks for your reply.

I'll be in a new house (just down the road from my current one so no problems with job location etc) a few weeks before I start so was wondering the best way of sorting it to get it quickly. Do you think it is best to apply for Infinity and pay for a month and then apply through the laptop or just get the line in my name then start a new broadband account through it once if started?

All you need is a line but it's up to you if you want to pay for internet for a month bt charges in advance anyway so you'd likely be paying for 2

I thought maybe i was just being an ass, I'm so organised with everything. I mapped out the next 3 months of plans, excessive maybe.

Already knew location and covered van parking with Chris on the phone cause i am not paying for a permit its 500 pounds a year and there is only 20 spaces for 45 houses.
